Hayden is an all-day neighborhood café and wine shop; a casual destination for California-inspired cuisine witH refined European technique.
Led by Ari Kolender, a James Beard semifinalist, the menu delivers seasonal favorites with an emphasis on seafood and local produce complimented by a carefully curated selection of wine and beer. The beverage program, curated by Akari Yamamura, features young and fresh producers from California, France and Italy. Bottles are available to enjoy in the space or to take home from the wine shop.
Chef Ari was born in Charleston, South Carolina but grew up cooking in some of the best kitchens in Los Angeles, including Providence and Red Medicine. Ari returned home to Charleston to work on the opening teams of The Ordinary and Leon's Fine Poultry & Oyster Shop, where he was nominated as a semifinalist for the James Beard Rising Star Chef award. In 2016, Ari came back to Los Angeles, moving to the Hayden Tract neighborhood where he was inspired by the creative community to open a neighborhood canteen–a place where the local industries can meet up with like-minded people.
